Reading Event!

On Thursday, July 15, 2010 Little Red Tree poet and author of All the Dead Goats, Nikoletta Nousiopoulos, will be reading at the Featherstone Center for the Arts, 30 Featherstone Lane, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557 (Martha’s Vineyard) The event will begin at 7pm.  Hope to see you all there!

After a long judging process and tough competition, we at Little Red Tree are very proud to announce that the winner of the 2010 Vernice Quebodeaux “Pathways” International Poetry Prize for Women, is Swaying on the Elephant’s Shoulders, by: Diana Woodcock.

Ms. Woodcock is a past recipient of the Creekwalker Poetry Prize and won a 1st place prize in 2009 in the Artist Embassy International poetry competition.  Her previous publishing credits include two chapbooks, Travels of Gwai Lo, (the title poem of which was nominated for the Pushcart Prize) and Mandala.

In the past her poetry has appeared in numerous journals and publications, among them:  Atlanta Review, Best New Poets 2008, Crab Orchard Review, Nimrod, Portland Review and Hawaii Pacific Review’s Best of The Decade issue in 2007.

Ms. Woodcock is currently teaching English in Qatar.  Over the years she has worked as a teacher in Tibet and Macau and spent time working with refugees on the Thai-Cambodian border.

We will be announcing further information regarding the anticipated release date for Swaying on the Elephant’s Shoulders, in the coming weeks.
